This buoy measures wind speed and direction, air and water temperature, relative humidity, wave direction, height and period. The CB-1500 coastal data buoy is secured by a two-point mooring system over a mud substrate in 13 meters of water. The buoy is equipped with a solar-powered weather station and surface and near-bottom water quality sensors that collect data every 30 min, as well as a cellular modem for real-time data communication. The buoy is removed each year during the winter months.
