The CB-1500 coastal data buoy is secured by a two-point mooring system over a mud substrate in 13 meters of water. The buoy is equipped with a solar-powered weather station and surface and near-bottom water quality sensors that collect data every 30 min, as well as a cellular modem for real-time data communication. The YSI EXO 2 Sonde is installed the treatment facilities raw water pumping station located on the Lake Erie shore line in the eastern portion of the county. This facility draws water from its 48 inch intake extends approximately 4,000 feet into Lake Erie.
