Known as Cleveland Water’s Nottingham buoy, it was established in June 2021 by Cleveland Water in partnership with Cleveland Water Alliance and LimnoTech. The CB-1500 coastal data buoy is secured by a two-point mooring system over a mud substrate in 13 meters of water. The buoy is equipped with a solar-powered weather station and surface and near-bottom water quality sensors that collect data every 30 min, as well as a cellular modem for real-time data communication.
